Bioshock 2 makes combat more manageable by removing the clunk of the original and paired with the decreased difficulty results in a more mellow playthrough in contrast to the more tense original. The city, the story, and the worldbuilding are very much still the main attraction here. Mechanically, Bioshock 2 is an improvement over the original in every way possible, but the mechanics continue to be subservient to the main attraction: Rapture.
